George Colville

Director of Communications

George Colville is an EU Tech Policy Fellow at the Open Markets Institute. He contributes to Open Markets' advocacy and research work in Europe, focusing on technology and the risks and harms associated with the intense market concentration that characterises the tech industry.

Raised near Geneva, Switzerland, Colville earned a B.A. (LLB) in Law and History from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Social Science of the Internet from the Oxford Internet Institute at the University of Oxford. There, his research covered a range of sociotechnical questions related to AI and digital platforms, culminating in a thesis which examined the extent to which AI foundation model markets might have tendencies characteristic of natural monopoly.

Before joining Open Markets, Colville spent time at the United Nations, working for the UN Conference for Trade and Development’s Science, Technology and Innovation team. He is also a Talos Fellow.
