CJL Director Cortney Radsch spoke on a panel at the UK Media Freedom Forum, addressing critical challenges facing media freedom worldwide. The two-day event on Tuesday March 04 and Wednesday March 05, covered issues such as strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPPs), transnational repression, misinformation, and the impact of new technologies like artificial intelligence. The panelists additionally focused on how the global environment influences media freedom and highlighted the gap between states' commitments and actual delivery. Each also explored concrete policy recommendations to enhance media freedom, emphasizing accountability and transparency for governments and other national stakeholders.
